The fast and the slow

This millipede was moving so fast that in the low light conditions it was being motion blurred. I wish I had thought at the time to this intentionally.

The snail on the other hand was very easy to photograph in the low light.

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

New Gaming Mat

I made this Death Star surface map from 8 x 10 sheets of paper. They were print off of my laser printer and then glued together.

The towers are objectives that the Rebles will have to destroy. In some missions the towers will be gun towers that will shoot back. I still need to make some rules to handle that.

The background is another game mat I made from black felt that has been spay painted.

 

 

 

 

 

 

Star War X-Wing Miniatures

I thought I would merge some of my hobbies together. I am some what of a gamer. I play board games, card games, dice games and miniature games. Some of these games have components that are very nice looking and very photographical.

I am going to start with my current favorite game. Star Wars X-Wing Miniatures Games. It is a fighter combat game. It is a very enjoyable game and well, it's STAR WARS!

This first miniature is called an Imperial Decimator.

 

 

 

 

 

"It was a dark and stormy night.... "Halloween 2014

"It was a dark and storming night. And freaking cold!" It was very very cold, wet and windy this Halloween. This year I decided to cut back on my Halloween decorating. I have been averaging around less than one hundred Trick or Treater's the last few years. The amount of work I put into it isn't worth the stress I have been feeling getting everything ready and the quantity of visitors that show up. The stress was starting to out weight the fun I was having.

Here are a few elements of my Halloween decorating this year. I was so cold and tired Halloween night that I was not able to spend a lot of time trying to get better shots.

 

This is my house as seen from the street. This is actually the day before Halloween. Not all the decorations were up yet.

I hope to set up a corner of my basement to do some Halloween themed vignettes. It would be a nice winter project.

 

Halloween 2014 - lighting test

I installed all/most of the lighting last night and pulled electrical to each spot. This is a very laborious process. I was working well past dark. But I think it looks good this year. Now all I need to do is add all the details and do some refinement.

I hope the rain does not hinder finalizing the decorations.
